Westernport Bay Charter
The Club will hire a charter boat departing out of Westernport and cover 50% of the costs. Typically the charter accommodates 8 ex Hastings. To secure your place be one of the first 8 to register and pay and others will be put on a wait list. Further details will be updated as soon as available.
Westernport Whiting Charter
This is the second charter for the weekend. Normally 8 participants are accommodated on the charter. The club will pay 50% of the cost. This is a ‘first come’ basis with participants to pay a deposit to ensure a place. Further details will be updated as available. Club Meeting: St. Kilda Festival Preparations
We will provide fishing opportunities for children attending the festival. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to attend the preparation meeting. Duties for the festival will be discussed and allocated as well as rigging the rods and preparing the boat for towing to the festival. Children’s Fishing Clinic: St. Kilda Festival
As part of our community support we will run a fishing clinic on St. Kilda Pier. It’s a fantastic opportunity for children to experience their first fishing event. Many volunteers are required to ensure this runs smoothly. Everyone is encouraged to register as volunteers via the Teams App or by contacting the Club Captain via email at elwoodac@gmail.com. Enjoy a coffee on the club at the pier and pizza at the club house afterwards as we pack away the gear.
Club Meeting: How to fish Port Albert
We will discuss how to Fish Port Albert and the schedule of the weekend. Dinner will be held on Friday night and then on Saturday at the RSL at Yarram. All participants should organise their own accommodation. RSVP is encouraged via Team App.
Comp 5: Port Albert Mixed Species
This comp is chasing mixed species at Port Albert. Weigh in will be held at the Rotunda near the ramp. Dinner on Friday night 20 February will be sponsored by the Club 5:45 pm to 8:45 pm. Members are required to make their own accommodation arrangements. Saturday night dinner will be at the RSL at Yarram at participant’s expense.

Meet at the club house to learn various tips. Club members will go through basic knots (such as uni knot etc), how to make a paternoster rig and how to sharpen a knife. Annual Competition with Ormond Angling Club
This annual event is open to 10 people with half the team on Ormond’s boat charter and half the team on the Elwood boat charter. Meet at 4:30 am at Patterson River for a 5 am start. The charter provides all gear, it’s BYO food and drinks (no alcohol permitted). After return there will be a weigh in at Elwood clubrooms at approximately 11:30 am. St. Kilda Festival: Fishing Clinic for Children
The annual event as part of the St. Kilda Festival. This is an opportunity for children to experience fishing off the pier, perhaps their first exposure to fishing. We need many volunteers for this event in coordination with Council of Port Phillip. A Safety induction is required by all attendees. Please complete the induction ASAP via the link in Teams App.
